Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the DayZ PBO Protector website and desktop tool, and are written for a global audience. Creating an account or completing a payment means you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
DayZ PBO Protector is a desktop tool plus companion website for packing, protecting and signing DayZ mod files (PBO). The core features are free; paid plans unlock the advanced protection options. The service is operated by MyMods (an individual).
Features keep changing. We describe what the current version actually does and make no promises about features that do not exist yet.
2. Accounts and eligibility
The site currently supports sign-in through Discord only. Your first sign-in creates the account, which is tied to the email address and account identifier Discord returns — keep your Discord account and devices safe. There is no password sign-in, and we never store a password.
You must be at least the digital-consent age in your country (never below 13; 16 in some jurisdictions) to create an account. If you are younger, please have a parent or guardian act for you.
One account holds one desktop seat at a time: activating on a new device moves the seat there and the old device stops working. Browsing the website does not use a seat.
3. Prices, taxes and payment
Pro is sold as USD monthly or yearly (settled through PayPal) and as a CNY one-time term (settled with Alipay through the epay channel). The price shown at checkout is what you pay.
Prices may change; changes are announced on the pricing page and do not affect payments already made. Any taxes that apply to digital services are shown at checkout.
4. Renewal of USD subscriptions
A USD subscription is charged each billing period by PayPal. You can cancel it yourself from the Subscriptions page in your account to stop future charges; you can also manage it from your PayPal account or contact us for help.
CNY (epay) purchases are one-time terms that do not renew automatically; buy again before expiry to continue.
5. Refunds
Any payment — one-time or renewal — can be fully refunded without a reason within 7 days of the payment date; see the Refund Policy. That policy is a voluntary extra commitment and does not reduce any mandatory rights you have under your local law.
6. Acceptable use
Use the tool to protect your own DayZ mods and content you are allowed to distribute. Do not use it to obfuscate malware or cheats, or anything that violates the game's terms or applicable law.
Do not attack, load-test or probe the website or its APIs beyond normal use. The APIs are rate-limited, and repeated abuse can get an account suspended.
Accounts are personal. Do not resell, share or lend an account to get around plan limits — contact us for team and custom licensing instead.
7. Best-effort protection, no cracking guarantees
Protection aims to raise the cost and effort of reverse engineering. No software protection is unbreakable, and we do not promise that a protected build cannot be analysed; file preprocessing changes structure and organisation, it is not encryption.
We describe each plan's capabilities honestly and do not guarantee any particular outcome.
8. Intellectual property
The tool, the website and their original materials belong to the operator. Your mod content stays yours; we take no licence over it beyond what is needed to process your files for you.
If you send us feature suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the product without further obligation.
9. Third-party services
Signing in goes through Discord; payments are handled by PayPal (USD) and epay/Alipay (CNY); verification and notification emails are sent through Resend; the site is delivered through Cloudflare and Tencent Cloud.
Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control their availability or behaviour.
10. Availability and changes
We maintain, update, add and remove features, and try to announce planned maintenance in advance. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, or that any particular feature stays forever.
The desktop tool targets specific game versions; older builds may stop being supported after a game update. We adapt as best we can and note changes in the changelog.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and can ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, commit fraud or abuse the service, to the extent the problem warrants, with notice where practical; access paid for and then terminated is handled under the Refund Policy.
12. Disclaimers and liability cap
The service is provided "as is", with no warranties beyond those the law does not allow us to exclude. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example lost mod work, server downtime or lost profit).
For any claim, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Consumer rights and governing law
These terms do not reduce mandatory rights you have where you live (for example consumer protections and the right of withdrawal for digital content). If these terms conflict with mandatory law, that law prevails and the remaining terms stay in force.
If we disagree, please write to us first. If we cannot resolve it, disputes go to the courts with jurisdiction where the operator is established — without affecting any right your local consumer law gives you to seek relief at home.
14. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated; material changes are announced on the changelog page and emailed to users who left an address. The "last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
